No matter where you are from, spending time in the Ozarks of Missouri should be on your list of top places to visit, particularly during the summer months.

Spending a week in the Ozarks is hardly enough time to enjoy everything the area has to offer.  Whether you are looking to disconnect and relax, spend your days on the water, or partake in any one of the dozens of outdoor activities, there are a couple things you want to make sure you do well ahead of time.  1. Book your lodging.  2. Reserve a boat.

Lodging and watercraft reservations tend to fill up fast so starting this process no later than the mid-winter months is the best idea.  If you wait until springtime your options will be limited.  While you have plenty of lodging options to choose from, perhaps a VRBO or remote sleepy lodge, or even a full service resort, we have put together a few options here to help you in your selection.

As for boat rentals there are quite a few boat dealers and rental companies who offer this as well.  You will find plenty of reviews online and on social media so we recommend checking those out.  In the meantime a few companies you may want to consider are Big Thunder at Glencove, Lake Time Boat Rentals, Paradise Marina & Watersports & BomBay Boat Rental.  Virtually any type of boat works well in the Lake of the Ozarks.  Depending on your group a pontoon boat might be ideal especially if you have a larger group and plan to cruise around but also enjoy water sports.  However, a bowrider or deck boat are equally ideal.  If you want to splurge a little you could also rent a waverunner or jet ski, even if it were just for the day.

Once you’ve taken care of those, now you can sit back and relax, for the most part.  If you plan to dine out, you may want to consider making reservations as your vacation approaches.  Or should you plan to golf booking tee times ahead of your arrival is a good idea as well.  There are a handful of courses in the area but depending on your location could be a bit of a drive.

For the family you may want to plan time at one of the miniature golf courses.  Or if you are looking for a little more adventure you can try out the ropes course at Turtle Hill Eco-Park.  Another favorite is a visit to the Bagnell Dam and nearby scenic overlook.  There are also nearby escape rooms, an arcade, Ha Ha Tonka State Park and Jetz Trampoline Park just to name a few.

Th0ere is certainly no shortage of things to do in the Ozarks.  You can easily spend the day on the water or at your resort just as easily as you can visit all the attractions in the area.  We are certain you will have the time of your life and will already be planning your next visit to the Lake of the Ozarks.
